Kia ora!
Welcome to «The Change Makers» – a weekly video series.
In this series our Change Makers share their stories, their thoughts, their ambitions and their actions to leave our world a better place – to be a Good Ancestor to future generations.
Our planet is experiencing catastrophic environmental harm and it requires us to Think Long Term, beyond our lifetimes, to evaluate our choices and to take actions to ensure a sustainable and healthy future for all.
The stories of those leading the change – The Change Makers – those thinking and acting with long term vision, are inspirational.
Inspired, we can ask ourselves, “what can we do to be Better Ancestors?”
This week, Better Ancestors visits Dr. Sandra Clair, founder of Artemis.
The Artemis story connects centuries of the wisdom of using plants for healing with modern scientific research.
Plants have been in use as medicines continuously for more than 60,000 years, yet traditional plant-based medicines are as relevant for health care today as they have ever been.
In fact 80% of the world’s population uses plants for health care and natural remedies will be central to sustainable health care systems into the future.
Artemis, which is based in the South Island of Aotearoa / New Zealand, has helped to keep alive the knowledge, skills and experience that will help underpin this future – a future where our species is able to live in harmony with the natural world.
Proven by tradition, backed by science we think the Artemis story is a story of Thinking-Long-Term.
